What is the best way to make a reservation?
The best and quickest way to book is on our website at www.explorcratelake.com. We highly recommend you do not use a third party site as they charge additional fees and deposits that we have no control over. Booking direct on our website is the safest, quickest, most convenient reservation option.
Can I make reservations over the phone?
We highly recommend booking your reservation directly through our website www.explorcratelake.com. If you are unable to book online and choose to contact us by phone, please leave a message with your name, contact information, and your dates and lodging preferences and we will get back to you in the order in which it was received. Availability
When will reservations be available for 2025?
In order to effectively manage the reservations, we will be rolling out 2025 Mazama Village cabins and The Crater Lake Lodge reservations August 1, 2024 through October 1, 2024.

- September 1, 2024 reservations will open for July of 2025.
- October 1, 2024 reservations will open for August of 2025.

Are there any peak seasons or times when reservations are harder to secure?
Accommodations in Crater Lake are at capacity the entire season. Book as soon as possible in order to secure reservations. The fastest way to reserve is through our website at www.explorcratelake.com.

What types of lodging are available? (e.g. cabins, rooms, campgrounds)?

What are the amenities included with each type of accommodation?
In keeping with our natural ambiance and to help you get away from it all, Crater Lake lodging amenities are very basic an our Wifi and cellular service is very limited. We offer comfortable simple lodging with windows for fresh air (no air conditioning) and friends and family for conversation (no TV’s or room phones).
Are there any pet-friendly accommodations?
Only service animals are allowed in the cabins and Lodge. Pets are allowed in the campground.
What if I want a specific room or have a special request?
Although we cannot guarantee a specific room or request, we always do our best to accommodate special requests. Please add detailed notes to your reservation whenever possible and feel free to give us a call back at (866) 292-6720 over the winter when things are a little more quiet.
Pricing and Fees
Are there any additional fees or taxes not included in the listed prices?
A $1/night fee will be added to all reservations in the Lodge and Cabins as a donation to the National Park Foundation. Thank you.
Are there any discounts available (e.g., for seniors, military, AAA members)?
Seniors and Military active and veteran receive 50% off in the campground. No other discounts are offered.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel up to 7 days prior to arrival with no penalty. After 7 days, your reservation is non-refundable.
Are there any penalties for cancelling or changing reservations?
No penalty for cancellations or reservation date changes for up to 7 days before arrival. After this period cancellations are non-refundable.
Is there a refund policy in case of unexpected changes or emergencies?
Refunds are available for events that close the park.
Do you refund for weather or inability to access due to weather?
Refunds are available if the park is inaccessible.
Check-in and Check-out
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in 4pm, Check out 11am for all accommodations in the park.
Is late check-out or early check-in available, and if so, is there an additional fee?
Crater Lake is extraordinarily beautiful and our lodging is in high demand. Because of this, we are unable to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs.
Accessibility
Are the accommodations accessible for people with disabilities?
Accessible rooms are available at the Lodge and the Cabins. Please indicate your needs when you make your online reservation.
Are there any specific services or facilities for guests with special needs?
We apologize in advance for those with special needs. The facilities in the park are quite old and built before disability standards were in place. The facilities have been retrofitted to meet requirements but very little of the park was designed and built with special needs in mind. Please keep this in mind when reserving and visiting the park. Thank you.

When do boat tour tickets go on sale?
Tickets for boat tours generally go on sale in early July as the potential start date is highly weather dependent. We also sell tickets onsite for the day of tours. They will be available online at https://explorecraterlake.com/things-to-do/boat-tours/. We will email those with lodging reservations when activity reservations are online.
When can I make dining reservations at the Crater Lake Lodge Dining Room?
